I heard this song for the first time a few days ago.Ive never been a Pearl Jam fan, so I had to do some research on who sang this beautiful song.This song brought back a lot of memories for me, not to long ago.
I am recently divorced. My ex husband was a drug addict. No one one knows how it is for a devoted wife to be by her husbands side if you hadnt been there like myself. I feel the song is about addiction.How a man has an addiction, and he has so much to lose.He has everything in front of him, and he just wants to come clean so bad so he doesnt lose everything...especially his beautiful wife.In this song, I also sense some type of spirituality, in which I feel all Addicts at one point come to cling to when he or she hits rock bottom. In my story, till this day my husband still wishes I didnt leave.He wishes I would have stayed by his side. He is alone now, has lost everything.He now realizes that he didnt appreciate me or what he had in his life...he was drowned in his addiction. Anyhow, I think this song is inspirational for those goin through a similar situation like my own. Thats all...
