Jason Gray is an awesome artist, and his lyrics are especially amazing. This song, in particular, is a gem. I can't believe no one has commented on it yet.
"We were made with these hearts,
meant to be open.
Then we locked them away,
afraid of being broken."
This is definitely my favorite part of the song; it's too true. From my own experience, I find it's hard to open up with people to share what's on my mind...what's heavy on my heart or my soul. It's hard to step down and make ourselves vulnerable. Society always praises people for their strength, but rarely ever do I see someone being affirmed for their weakness--their brokenness. We can't all be the 'golden boys (or girls)", however much we try to be.
