'just take me, lead me on' - there's a fear of living, what does it even entail to be in complete control of one's own life? living by pre-supposed rules and following someone else's instructions is oh so much easier, despite being a copout. he(not necessarily blake, but i need to give the song a body) doesn't like himself for whatever reason, likely he blames himself for failed past loves. he's more in love with the idea of what was than anyone at the moment. plagued by nostalgia, his regret and longing for the past(it'll never be the same) is almost unbearable. i think we've all been here.
