It looks like this song is about a woman whose husband dies but rather than drowning in despair (like so many crappy emo songs whine about) she chooses to face the future with hope that she can carry on.
She seems to get this hope from her daughter ("She sees his eyes and finds her hope / Looking upon her daughter's face").
