"Lionheart" is about Roland the Gunslinger tracing Jake Chambers through a man-made labyrinth in the city of Lud and then into the sewers in order to rescue the boy from Gasher and his leader, the Tick-Tock Man. It uses metaphor of Ulysses and travel to Hades.
From what book series these Roland the Gunslinger, and Jake Chambers characters are I have no idea.
Roland the Gunslinger and Jake Chambers are from the "The Dark Tower" series by Stephen King. This song is refers to the third book I believe (I've only read through "The Gunslinger" and "The Drawing of the Three"). The third book is titled "The Waste Lands". Demons & Wizards (of which the lead singer of Blind Guardian also sings lead) has an album about The Dark Tower series entitled "Touched by the Crimson King". Two of my faves: "The Gunslinger" and "Touched by the Crimson King". I'm not surprised that few people have heard of...

I'm not surprised that few people have heard of this series, but I am surprised that a band from Germany not only heard of it, but read it and composed songs about it. Songs like this have meaning and references that mean something to certain people (like myself), and these kinda songs aren't cookie-cutter like a lot of bullshit rap songs and John Mayer's whining, and that "Fireflies" gayness. What do people my age find appealing about this "New Age" stuff? Sorry... getting on a rant here. Awesome song. Pay for it. Don't steal.
my boyfriend and i went to the beach for our vaction this past august. he and i were sitting on the beach sharing my iPod, listening to blind guardian. He drowned a few minutes later..
i havent turned my iPod on since then because i was scared to know what the last song he ever heard was.
i'm goign to se blind guardian tomorrow though, and i wanted to know it if i heard them perform his last song.
lionheart was his last song..
