I'm surprised no one's said what I'm about to say.
I think this song is about this scenario:
Girl and guy break up because they've both changed and aren't sure how they feel. The girl built up the guy in her mind to something he never was, and she's only going by her first impression of him even though he's changed. However, even though they move on they realize they still need each other and are "in love" but neither one of them can admit it because they want to protect themselves. She always wants his attention and realizes even though the relationship wasn't perfect, she still needs him and she's left with no excuse. The "180 by summer" means that he hopes things will turn around from the big mess before to a summer romance. He's saying none of what happened back then matters because both of them still care, but it's all about who makes the first move. I think.
@tulipsareblue I like your theory about the 180 by summer. it makes alot of sense. I saw a youtube video of them playing this song and Adam says the title came from a $200 dollar bet that Eddie lost but he was broke so Adam told him to pay him $180 by summer
