This must be one of the saddest songs I have ever heard. Personally,I think that the image that it sets right from the beginning is amazingly tragic... seeing the woman you love/loved getting married to someone other than you, and thus "If i said what you said, I would have won", for he could have been the one saying "I do". However, instead of saying those words, he is at the other side of the isle (literally), watching what he could have had.
I also like it when he is talking about the contrast, and how "The emotion that I feel when she's standing still, is that of a poor boy in Beverly Hills".
