Maybe she caused a lot of damage and it took her a really long time (and a wacky experience) to realize it. She had to see things from his (their) perspective in order to understand the toll she took on his life (or more). Maybe the "home" she broke wasn't a home but a friendship (or two) and she ran away and that was difficult for him.
Now she hopes to see him again someday cuz she always enjoyed his sense of things. She hopes he has lots of happiness and laughter in his life despite of all the damage she's done.
