I personally think, this song is about a couple, and shes hurting him all the time, taking him for granted, she promises him things and yet she doesnt deliver any of the time etc, and now hes finally had enough and tries to break up with her. Its killing him to do it, as he still loves her, but he already feels dead to her, hence "I still feel nothing but a ghost"
