Always loved this song...Therapeautic drums, and no matter how loud I turn it up, it is never enough when the harsh guitar comes out at the end. I dont think it is about the paparazzi. For me, it always conjures up images of developing nations seen through the eyes of a person who is obsessed with trying to make a difference in the world("Build a fountain...") while also being unhealthily obsessed with the mockery that is the English monarchy. I think the Daily Mail-BBC verse signifies the pro-British stance of the person being spoken about. I am probably wrong though, and I have no idea where "hold on tight or you just might lose her" fits in?
On another note, I relate this song closely with "Of Walking Abortion", as i think both songs seem to be saying (in a very complex way) 'you are wasting your life, you should be doing more, stop kidding yourselves'....but as i said, that might be just in my head eh.
