I can't believe no one has commented this one.... its by far the most amazing BCB song on the new album. I love the fluidity of the song, to me it seems as though she is speaking to someone who didn't believe in her, and she's moving past that now but still wanting to feel accepted.

My feeling has always been that it's a parent she's singing about. A parent she's lost, hence the grieving. That's the kind of thing that takes a toll. Over the years the pain would recede (I guess), but maybe we'd always be wishing we'd had more time with them, especially if there was no warning. Hoping somebody might pick me up and carry me again; well that's what parents did when we were small.
