i think kenny is writing about being in a relationship with someone and whether or not it was still going on, they can't get each other out of their minds. and even while they know that they are the cure for their headaches, one continues to use men as a way to get their mind off the other, and in retaliation per se, the other breaks the promises they made and keeps everything to themselves, further adding to the headache.
