The song is (in my opinion) reminiscent of the Succubus. For those who don't know, a Succubus is a demonic creature that takes the shape of a woman, sometimes portrayed as a half demon or a winged demoness (and usually very violent or dark a creature). The succubus would seduce her victim, have their fun with them, and then kill the victim and take their soul.
That's basically the idea of the song; people believe in a fake love or go to something that they think is beautiful, but really they just set themselves up for sadness and failure. It can link not only to brothels or prostitutes, but even just a regular love life that never worked out; some people really do feel broken hearted or that they've lost something important when they lose love.
