Them Kids Lyrics

First off, this song is catchy as hell and grew on me alot. But is there more to it than just the obvious chorus? Think the_howee was onto something there about the simpler times, mainly the lyrics about the man on the street corner playing guitar and how the kids are "always on the phone and they always gotta have control", and how these good ol' days are under attack and are a dying breed ("we're taking them back, we're taking them back"). "The melody that you thought you found reveals that she's been sleeping around", can't quite pinpoint it but sounds something the lines of the process of creating songs has become corrupted? I may be way off but I'm really liking this song and album suddenly. "I can't sell my songs so I'm gonna have to give them away/ I can't sell myself since my hair started turning grey", perhaps since he's considered older there isn't a place for him in the mainstream?

I'm kind of overanalyzing past the point of the chorus. :)

"The melody that you thought you found reveals that she's been sleeping around" I kind of thought of this as the music someone's playing/listening to may seem original at first but it's really been used a hundred times before.
