I appreciate this song because it opens the door for an important debate. It speaks of saving these people from "the dark of despair," but if we were to read into the history of this country's military I think we would see that it is the cause - not the solution - of this despair. Propaganda is most clearly evident when holding a certain opinion - in this case NOT supporting our troops - runs one the risk of absolute ostracism. Einstein put it simply: "Wars will end when men refuse to fight." Wake up people! These invasions have absolutely NOTHING to do with humanitarian concerns. Our military has been stationed in these countryies only to protect the elite's economic interests in the Middle East, although that's not what Big Brother would have you believe. I'm sorry, but you cannot support the troops without supporting the war. It's the same as saying "I don't agree with cocaine use, but I support this country's cocaine dealers." TFY. QA. Enough said.
