What I gather from the lyrics and the motif of the melody is that it's plainly about a love that is gone. A love that signifies a specific person. There are a few giveaways, mainly the tittle Lavinia; This is a woman that was loved by one, but given to another. in the second verse, vermillion as the color also refers to it's chemical toxicity, being that if digested it is deadly. Beutiful but painful as a reference to a relationship or a person.

This is an amazing song, telling us not only his sad story but ultimately revealing the name of the person he refers to Lucia. He refers to her while descriving the pain Turnus felt when Lavinia was given to Aenas (he being Turnus). This clearly references the pain he must have felt when Lucia's love was gone.

The way the melody builds around the lyrics is amazing. Building up a sence of transformation and exchange.

See my love is asleep on the floor His heart is broken, leaving his loe out of touch with reality In a pose that familiar familiar because it is still fresh, he is still feeling his love uncontious See my sun will just send you to war The sun is his drive, he knows that any furure love will hurt him** If the battle won't kill you

But I've a change in mind Calling all the time

That I don't want to live in your side he is saying that even though it hurts, he is trying to get over her

Though the rose is vermillion **Acknolleges that its the same beuty that is so toxic to him, Loving something so beutifull can be painfull when its no longer possible.

And I find it so hard to survive Without when within you

My sweet Lavinia My sweet Lavinia

Lucia my love, in the darkness shine The darkness is his pain. The shine is the love he feels Lucia my love, and you're not mine She is no longer the "shine" or the love he loves Lucia my love, in silence so long He has not loved another person in so long. Maybe expressing that he either is still hurting or stil enloved with her

Lucia my love, no promise no more, Lucia, I walk this unknown the unknown signifies him not knowing where to go from here, should he stop loving her or hurt more for her. My Lucia my lover my own Lucia, my love, i leave here soon "here" is his current state and not his location. Lucia, my love, my life's over when i come home ** his home is where he remembers her (earlier reference to floorboards) saying that no matter where he goes, ___when he comes back, re remembers her, bringing him back to the state of mind that so haunts him. Lucia, Lucia, Lucia, Lucia... two three four
