Ladies And Gentlemen Lyrics

This may be really off, but I agree with alanaellington - it's about a relationship

"This story seems alive away from you We'll hope for love on hotel floors"

He's saying that, away from the girl, it seems more real, because when they're together, they've got to hide all the time (hire hotel rooms together, etc.)

"Then he looks her in the eye She considers hiding spades and trumps and plans Such a crush of subtle lies"

Basically, she's lying to him. It's like playing poker or something. The aim is to guess what the other person has in their hand, while not revealing your own. And she's better at it than he is, but he knows what she's doing.

"From the hospital We're honorary members of the red carpet academy"

They've put each other in hospital (symbolic, I think) so often that they're practically honoured guests.

"So wrap your lips around these lies Just to fall in love girl, love girl, tonight Into my arms into the sea Just to fall in love girl, love girl, tonight"

He's seen through her lies, and she can't lie her way out of that, but he's daring her to try. But he still, on some level loves her, and he compares their love to jumping off a cliff - adrenaline while you fall, but likely to be nasty at the bottom - again, with the hospital, they visit so often, and this time, they'll be part of the "red carpet academy" (needing urgent attention).

The rest basically builds on those metaphors.

That was probably way too in-depth, but that's just what I get from it.
