Perhaps you had a different version, but I hear the lyrics differently.

It should be:

If all we talk about is money Nothing will be funny honey Now that everyone's a critic It's making my mascara runny If we only talk about the Heathers Making it together is crazy If we don't get a new situation for our busted nation, We're lazy

It's gonna be It's gonna be Please make it be It's gonna be

Now if a princess becomes human Don't stone her on a talk show You'll ruin 'Cause there's a fine line between a skewer And a decent sense of humor And all the ones who really hurt us They should be arrested for murders And then all the cameras were turned on to Some skinny naked blonde eating burgers

It's gonna be It's gonna be It's gonna be It's gonna be

It's gonna be It's gonna be Please make it be Make it be

It's gonna be x3

The Heathers reference is to the movie where these pretty and wealthy but messed up girls waste their lives and create all sorts of drama in the lives of others and in their own. I think she's using this to say that our culture spends a lot of time giving the Paris' and Lindsays and Britneys of the world too much attention. We concern ourselves with such trivial trash when we should be focusing on more important issues. I think the second verse is just a comment on how our society is obsessed with image and weight and food. The song itself is her way of saying look at the condition of our society.Letting ourselves be constantly concerned with the state of the economy or our body image or the lives of others isn't getting us anywhere. We need more positive, intelligent images and thoughts because otherwise, we're just sucking the joy out of life.
