I cant help but thing of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey when I hear this song.

The song is from the point of view of someone who is institutionalized and maybe has OCD, seeing how the NEED to clean up this mess. This medication sedates the person and makes these voices and needs go away.

"I didn't know it was hot in the middle I touched it once then I touched it a second time 'Cause I am that naive"

These are probably my favorite lines and could mean so much to different people, but in this context I think it has something to do with always coming back to this "madness" or the point of break for this person. It's always falling into the same thing, over and over, and maybe not learning from it, or forgetting the consequences (due to medication).
