This song is not about Pete & Ashlee & Bronx. Pete never writes the lyrics from his perspectives, he always says that.
I've been a fan of Fall Out Boy since 'Split' and still am to this day.
I personally think the song is about the band's fame now and how they miss Chicago which explains this verse:

This chorus is explaining how they can only sing about all the heartaches and pessimistic attitudes, before it gets tiring and becomes the same thing over and over again:
