This song is not about Pete & Ashlee & Bronx. Pete never writes the lyrics from his perspectives, he always says that. I've been a fan of Fall Out Boy since 'Split' and still am to this day.

I personally think the song is about the band's fame now and how they miss Chicago which explains this verse: "Sometimes i want to quit this all and become an accountant now but I'm no good at math and besides the dollar is down plant more trees on Lake Michigan before it gets cold I gotta feel the wind chill again before I get old I wanna scream "I Love You" from the top of my lungs but I'm afraid that someone else will hear me."

This chorus is explaining how they can only sing about all the heartaches and pessimistic attitudes, before it gets tiring and becomes the same thing over and over again:

"You can only blame your problems on the world for so long before it all becomes the same old song as soon as we hit the hospital I know we're going to leave this town and get new passports and get, get, get, get, get out now"

i've yet to figure this part out, maybe its about how the songs they always wrote made it seem like it was for a girl about their love for her and its all over now? i know that was lame.

tell that boy i'll leave alone now like a stove i'll turn my love down supra and the prophet are both in the business of souls

I know im probably way off, but like i said Perte NEVER writes songs about himself or his expierences for the band.
