the clampdown sounds like government oppression. i think, perhaps, working for the police department or serving in the military for an unjust cause (the vaste majority of them) would be considered working for the clampdown, or oppression. it's the people in society that brown nose the upper class, the uncle tom's, and all the weasels of society that cuddle up to those in power.

not trying to trash talk military servicemen, or policemen, but they are working for the betterment of the upper class whether it be their intention or not, which is not to say that they can't have meaningful moments within their career, or gain knowledge from their experiences.
