There seems to be a great deal of anger/disappointment concerning this song due to the lyrical content being contrary to Davey's beliefs, but I think it all just a big misunderstanding of two points:
The first being the assumption this song is about Davey himself. Many artists will write in the first person, even if it's something they wouldn't do, in order to make the subject matter more personal and interesting. An example for all you OG AFI fans would be "Mini Trucks Suck". Do you think Davey really likes getting high or drinking beer, even though he's speaking in the first person? Of course not!
The second misunderstanding comes from not reading the whole song. When the song changes tempo, there's a dramatic shift in the lyrics as well. We learn that this sort of behavior isn't so great after all. With that in mind, when one goes back and rereads the song again it becomes obvious the song is AGAINST one-night stands, pointing out the damage it causes to one’s self-esteem and any chance of a meaningful relationship.
You said pretty much what I was thinking Jahydin. People need to realize that not all lyrics are meant to be taken literally from the perspective of the lyricist. I personally think Davey Havok does this quite often in songs. This song could be easily about the dependency people have on sex or one night stands. Of course if an artist being obviously against it, many people wouldn't like the song...but as their Blaqk Audio album let everybody know "Cex Cells"
