well, i know a lot of people think that this is a very simple song, maybe im wrong, but when i heard it i interpreted it to be about a girl who is addicted to love (since she's begging him to come back throughout the whole song), and uses material things and people to make herself happy (...she goes shopping for new clothes and she buys this and she buys that...), and she couldve been quite possibly abused by the boy whom she begs to come back (the flashbacks won't leave me alone...?). and maybe she sought help from a friend and the abusive boyfriend interpreted it as cheating.
but, idk. i do tend to be a bit dramatic, and maybe this song really is just about simply cheating? this is just how i understood it.
If I may state my two cents, I wanna to say I agree on most of it but I think it's not about her being emotionally attached to him because of abuse, I'd say its more of she cheated...she puts it straight forward and made at least one allusion by saying she was just curious. She got dumped and can't handle the loss and she's feeling incredibly remorseful and is begging for forgiveness from her ex. But I totally agree on the clothes thing as a coping mechanism. (I kinda liked how she worded that part) ^^ That's it.

The thing that I don't understand is why do people go on and cheat behind their partner/boyfriend/girlfriend's back if they had a certain problem in their current relationship but not discuss their problem before actually cheating or doing anything weird? Is it really that hard to communicate that they're unhappy about a certain thing in the current relationship and try to talk things out? >_____>
