I think this song is about being yourself, being strong and not allowing others to change you. Knowing who you are and not allowing others to "buy" what you have, and keep it for yourself. It seems no a days people sell their qualities to fit into society and forget who they were to begin with. And heard it all before meaning, people trying to convince the person of change, but defying what is being spoken to change what others feel is misguided, and unaccepted. People seem less accepting to small things, such as piercing, and tattoos, when that has no bearing on whether or not the person is bad, or good.
