i definitely agree with thepowercut. i think a lot of people will only look at "every girl i've ever loved has wanted to be hit," but they seem to skip over the, "every girl i've ever loved has left me 'cause i WOULDN'T do it." i don't think believe seriously condoning abuse here, maybe he could have approached the song from less of a dark-humor angle but i think that's just his style. and lyrics and meaning aside, i think this song has a neat sound.
as a female fan of smog i am okay with this song because i know plenty of girls who've left perfectly decent guys for a "real man" who beats them up. i can understand why a guy would be bitter.
