Now that I'm analyzing the lyrics I really think its about the guy with bad news (a cold wind) telling his other half to get ready for the news (put on your winter coat), but that it will pass (night will follow day sure as the sun and moon). And that he'll come back from whatever this bad news is taking him (I will always be with you, the night will not last for much more). Either way I love it. Has hit closest to me than any other song has. It's weird, I know.
