I think it's about a guy who use to be in a relationship with a girl he really liked, but he had 'given up on himself' and saw himself as a 'lost cause' or whatever, so he ended it, but he still really likes her, and he's saying in this song that he remembers everything and she saved him, and she can't take that away.
