I think its about quitting whatever intoxicant, getting mad sick and avoiding the world to stay clean. I mean, he's straight up sick, and everything is unappealing from hosing down dogshit to partying. He's not even at the point of staying busy to be sober, he can't even get out of bed.

maybe mean how everything is fun and a great joke, but stick with shit for long enough and everyone feels like shit eventually.
