i think its about having a love, yet resentment, for someone who's left you. in the lyric, "Tell me all your secrets.I promise I'll be listening and if you ever come back home I'll be waiting patiently./Tell me nothing sacred. I pormise i won't hear a word and if you ever come back home, I won't act so patiently', to me, it's someone who's left without saying why, and so in the line tell me all your secrets which leads to ill be waiting patiently, it means if its valid, and youre honest with me about why you left, then ill have forgiveness. and then he says, tell me nothing sacred, as in nothing from the heart, which leads to "and i wont act so patiently", which means i cant forgive someone who's hurt me so badly and cant even give an explanantion as to why. i think its about letting someone become so close to you that youve become too vunerable, and paid the price after theyve left, "i cant recall the last day of sun", as in im lost in the dark without you. it's about the troubles of getting over someone and knowing how badly youre hurt by them, but willing to be in such a tied up state just to see them...to me :) fkn love norma jean. saw them live two nights ago.
