I swear this band is made up of Christian guys. This song seems one of the mos obvious.

The first verse speaks about "one way" and ends with feeling forgiven. This echos the Christian belief that Jesus is the only way to heaven (which is what I think 'home' refers to).

The line, "I am just an image of, something so much greater" seems to be a way of articulating that human beings were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). "I am just a picture frame, not the painter" seems to recognize that there is a higher sovereignty than human beings who works inside of us (notice the painter would paint a canvas which goes inside the picture frame). "What is this I feel within" also seems to allude to how God works in men's hearts by the Holy Spirit.

This band is like Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, The Fray, and U2. Their lyrics contain many Christian principles and truths, but they aren't explicitly stated. I love it!

Song Meaning

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree with you- I agree it's a questioning, thought-provoking song. To say that it's "Christian" would be a bit of an overstep. This could be one of a thousand religions. Expressing the possibility of a higher power doesn't label Christian, it symbolizes theology in general. I think this song is more about humans and the emotions that connect us to each other. I wouldn't argue that it's NOT Christian, but I wouldn't argue that it is.

<-- Big fan of interpreting information found in the song, not adding information to it. "Insight is gained...

I really like your thoughts on this song. Its heartbreakingly beautiful
