I read an article a few months ago in Alternative Press where, I believe, the lead singer was talking about when he met Tom from Blink 182, his favorite band, when he was younger. He knew somebody who knew him. They all meet up, and Tom looks at him, looks back at their mutual friend and says something like, "What's he doing here? I told you no fanboys." It really hurt him and changed his views of big time musicians. I bet this song has something to do with that.
