Best part of the song is the chorus. But honestly im not certain on what the song means. I relate it to God and some-one who is close to me.
For when she says "we were" i apply it to more than one person.
I interpret it as no matter what we do were not as good as God even when we try, or when we try to follow others footsteps(not the best ones) we realize how wrong we and we cant go on?
