if you look on Wikipedia, or that little booklet thing with the lyrics in it that you get with CDs it says that Matt H. co wrote it along with matt t.
and ive heard matt t. say and have read many places that they have been best friends ever sense matt thiessen moved to canton when he was like 7. and hoopes is the one singing in the song. sooo i think its about them being best friends...but you know i could totaly be wrong...
