i just heard this at erbert and gerbert's the other day and i love it! i've been thinking a lot about the lyrics, and this is what i think:
A guy is seriously seeing this girl, and they break up. Her new boyfriend, who is a good friend of Jer's, tells Jer that he's seeing his ex. He's mad because he's told his friend all about her, and the new boyfriend is using all of the things that Jer told him about his girlfriend. The other guy never will know her as well as Jer did. He says that she's lowering her standards, and she's not as special as he thought she was (but he still loves her).
