Anyways, this seems quite obvious to me:
I think this is a song about a love that is doomed. Perhaps some infidelity is involved(Watch how you answer). You may hope that the relationship can be saved, but loving one another is not enough. You can't be lazy in a relationship if it's going to be a win, you have to fight for it.
