Wow. Good Question. I came here looking for help on the meaning and figure it means something personal to Weir & Barlow. I may be wrong about about that. Actually I think it is a Hunter/Weir tune for some reason. The song is pretty much self-explanitory - Two lovers that go in different directions and the pain that comes with losing somebody you love. I feel a long distance relationship in there but it does lose me at the beginning with the quick vocal bursts. The two choruses at the end are nice poetically and has interesting imagery - soulmates, birds, living on the far side of the sea, winging back to me (lots of bird imagery - maybe intended as a foundation for Bobby's "bird calls"), I do not have the lyrics in front of me and am on an iPhone. It's not a song I've memorized but am interested as I dated a woman (from another country I lived in for awhile) named guess what? and all the synchronicity that flows through my world I want to know more about the song. Please add your own input!
Cheers.
