I have to say that this song is by far one of their best-sounding songs, and it has such a deep and dark meaning in relation to heroin. Even before I knew this song was about heroin, it resonated with me on such a deep level. It seems like most of his songs about heroin (albeit indirectly), such as Badfish, Pool Shark, Pawn Shop, and this song, are among this band's very best. It's sad that he knew he was going to die from this, and that he let this drug ruin his life to the point...

But if he never did those drugs, his music probably would have been some bland, corporate mechanism, instead of the deep realizations he had about his own addiction. Bradley Nowell was much smarter than people give him credit for. I mean, some people would look at his lyrics and think that they don't mean anything, but the deeper you dig, the more you find. Amazing song, and it is actually very telling of what addiction is like, with a smooth groove.
the solo is mindblowing. the pinch harmonic makes my brain peak. (i think it's actually the emptiness between the notes... wtf.)
