About the meaning, I really can't say for sure what the meaning of this song is for it has a lot of meanings depending on how you look at it.
I think he's asking himself if believing in religion is worth it "Why would you really want to live forever"
Lastly, he, like me, is wondering if god is real. He realizes that christianity is not his thing "And I can't pretend anymore to be a part of this
