I'm pretty sure this song is about allowing yourself to think that death is the answer in the most worst situations that seem like they can never be fixed. although, the lyrics are clearly directed towards someone that truly cares about the victim and loves them. this song could refer to one person actually making a difference in the victims life. that the person gives the victim a reason to push on and keep living. the victim feels like he's dying but when he's with the person who cares and loves them they feel alive and no they cant die as long as that person stays with them.
