I was thinking about the mountains of plastic part. Maybe he is talking about how we take all our junk (like plastic) and literally make mountains of it. People talk like they will last a long time (Not really sure how long, I've heard hundreds, etc.). But then getting back to what you depicted, we are ignorant and they can be destroyed easily.
