I think it’s about a relationship based song.
Shaun telling a story of two lovers.....

it means that she playing him 'outplays so gentle' and he is falling in love, but just they believe that she's real so they wish for wings and tell her to jump (maybe off a cliff)
and in idle hands-that means in busy hands, so a doctor..?

then she either realises that he means that their relationship can go into the sea-its over (the seas is some sort of metaphor but I don’t quite understand what it is)
