Ok, this is my first submission to SongMeanings, even though I've been a lurker for awhile now. This song is from the New Moon soundtrack (for those of you who don't know, part of the mega-force franchise that is Twilight), which means a lot of people hating because of the throngs of crazy hormonal fan girls, haha.
But, I love me some Grizzly Bear, and the whole album is comprised of great indie artists. Anyhoo, I took a stab at this one because I love love love this song (which features Victoria LeGrand of the group Beach Houses). I sat here and listened to this song over and over and couldn't grasp some of the lyrics, so I went online to find them...and there was pretty much nothing.
So feel free to correct...my motivation was to figure out what the hell Ed Droste is saying in the chorus. I like to be able to sing along confidently to the songs I like alot :)
I think it's "place your bets on chance and apathy" and "this constant noise all the time."

I'm pretty sure "from the wind in front of me" isn't right, but I can't figure out what he IS saying. I'm about to burst my eardrums from pressing my ear buds into my ears trying to hear what he's saying.

Good job on these lyrics. I did it from scratch and came up with the same thing. The only difference is the "wind in front of me" part. Idk. It's sounds to me like "till the wind is far at sea". Almost. It's the best I can do.

OK. I changed my mind about the "chance and apathy" line. I now think it's "chance and I'll believe." Maybe this context clue will help one of us to figure out that last line!
