I'm pretty sure It's actually about the way people handled getting sick in Ancient Greece. Claudius Galen (129-200 AD) came up with the idea of "Bloodletting." When someone was sick during that era, it was believed that letting out the "bad blood" would let out the illness. I guess it turned out that this bloodletting concept was not such a good one lol
