I take the song lyrics as alluding to 2 new lovers, both learning from past experiences and overcoming pain and mistrust. "Coming so easily... Learning how to live" gives me that impression.

I see your point too! This song is on the confusing side in terms of interpretation and THAT'S why it's awesome :)
