The main idea is teens growing up
and becoming productive adults.
The first part is about a girl,
and the second (obviously) a boy.
At the end they meet each other, OR
just their other half.
And the fields are turning-------->time passes
And the temperature is rising----->season change
See the factories burning--------->observing town life
(when?) the wheels keep turning--->thinking of money/work
Well, I've seen that-------------->obvious
you've grown now------------------>obvious
With the horses you ride---------->the girl is more skilled
Gonna have your say now----------->obvious
I see the new moon rising
Oh, she don't mind
She got the time
I see the new moon rising------->she is waiting patiently for something
-------------------------------->possibly to get rich?, find a job?, husband?
I see this small town boy now
From a small town family
he's got to find his way now
Gotta find himself a woman------>everything above is pretty obvious
With the skill of the people
He don't wanna be no whipping boy>this refers to him being unskilled
Well, the time has come now------>and nervous about being mistreated
Gotta hit the highway------------>in the work world
