I think this is about a song writter comparing his work to other writters and how they've influenced his songs.
Also it has song feelings and objects the singer related himself to so that could be how he thinks of himself or even how they've inspired his works.
Or it could be random words as alot of songs are, and I'm making up a meaning to please my own restless mind.
