This is most probably my favourite B-side/unknown Police song ever!
It creates an amazing atmosphere and I love how the melody just keeps on flowing while the lyrics tell us of the tragedy that happened.
And I love how Sting's voice sounds so young in this song - as if he wants to emphasise how young and innocent the couple was and how the whole life of the young man is ruined before it had even begun.

I was informed that this song was written about Stings ex girlfriend Meg. He talks about her in his memoir “Broken Music” and a person I know who studies him told me that this song is about her. They dated in their teens, Deb was his first girlfriend, but then he met Meg and fell in love with her.
