well, i've listened to above & beyond for years now.
My own perception on this song seems to be almost a spiritual entity, or an extraterrestrial being that's ugly in the physical being but absolute beauty internally.
the reason i say it could be a spiritual entity is the fact "it" knows her better than anybody on earth, because she's obviously lonely due to her perspective that there's no human that can interact with her mentally in which she strives.
That's my view, but i think that's the underground view on it. obviously the mainstream will believe it's a simply alien abduction, but i don't think a&b is that simple ;)
