It seems like this is a description of several things! Taken literally, it may be instructions for a death ritual. Taken symbolically, it's an Alchemist's code. Taken as Metaphor, it's a condemnation and exploration. I don't have room to go into all of it, but here's the idea for one.

3 suns/sons: The 3rd Equinox in a year The BLACK mirror: traditionally used by Alchemists and Sorcerers to see the Unseen. The gold-painted galleon:it's not really gold, it just looks that way, perhaps the Moon? The Resonance: a specific chant or song to set the Trance in motion. The Yew Berry: Yew trees are sacred, and also poisonous. The berries are bright red, symbolizing blood, renewal, sacrifice. This ties into "Swallowing the Dead";making it possible to be reborn through the sacrifices of the living. Mercury was considered a powerful cure-all in ancient times, almost a holy agent. It may have been added to a potion intended to inspire visions. It could also be a way to announce "I have Trancsended the mundane."
