Agree with ericbob503, severely underrated track, one of my favourites of Joni's. For me, this song relates that all-too common sensation of wanting to slow down the hands of time, of how the young want to be older, and how the old want to be younger. "Youth is wasted on the young" as the old adage goes. I find it reassuring too, after all, this song would seem quite daunting if it was not for the mention of "dreams", that there will be plenty of them, even if they do lose a bit of grandeur the older we get.
